Well I am not a true expert when it comes to building traffic for my websites, I usually leave this to qualified experts but I have learned a few things along the way. I started to read about viral marketing to see if it was something I wanted to try, at first I was not so sure but I thought I would give it a try on one of my website and track the results. I was blown away! the link I clicked was this: Get One Million Hits Free!
I didn't really have a lot of faith in it at first but thought, what do I have to lose. I am very glad I tried it, I am not at a million visitors but I have increased my traffic by about 500% so far and growing after only one week.
Check out my banner that I have added at http://www.hydroblogger.com this is all I have done to start getting the visitors.
You owe it to yourself to give this a try.
Here are a few other tips that I have used and found to work well for my web pages, hope they help you.
What are "anchor text links" and how can using "anchor text links" help increase your search engine rankings and the web traffic to your site?
Well, anchor text links are the hyperlinked words (example, Making Extra Money)that you see on a web page, which are the words you click on when you click a link.
Anchor text links should provide your visitors with useful and helpful information about the content of the page that you have linked to and should be easily understood by the user.
Anchor text links are also very important because they tell the search engines what your linked page is about and can increase your rankings in search engines.
Anchor Text Links Placement
# Home Page – Your website "home page" is usually the most important page on your website. It is the first page where your site's visitors and search engines will generally visit, when they enter your domain. Using anchor text links within the content of your website will help support and improve your home page ranking as well as the target page for the intended keyword phrase.
Make certain to keep the user in mind when using these links.
When using keywords text on your home page, there are often ways to link into internal pages. This is a good idea as it directs search engine spiders/robots traffic while associating the keyword (anchor text) with the specific page that you are linked to. An important consideration is that the home page often has a higher page rank than internal pages, but using anchor text links properly can also contribute value to targeted pages.
# Internal pages-Links on internal pages are not as important to search engine rankings as on the home page. Nevertheless, each internal page is terribly important to your sites visitors and can add to a good internal linking strategy.
# Sitemaps and Footer Placement – Are great places to think about placing anchor text links. Again, keep your visitors in mind when developing (optimizing) the links. !
# Navigation maps (the text-links at the bottom of each page) are a great place to put keyword enriched anchor text. Site maps is a single page of links that list all the pages in a website with simple HTML links.
# External Links - Are links coming from other URLs (websites/blogs) should use effective anchor text. Getting other sites to link to yours ... will be a future posting!
Anchor Text Links Tips
# The best place to position your anchor text links are form top left to bottom right of your webpage.Of course this depends on your website/blog design!
# Don't use "stop words"! These are common words such as "the", "and", "as" ,"with" etc and overused words such as "www", "web", and "web site" that are ignored by a search engine when a user performs a query such as and, with, by, from etc.
# Unless, you are trying to rank for "click here" or something similar..Avoid using "click here"..instead use a keyword!
Remember to focus on those links that you use within your site as well as those your link partners use to mention you. Anchor text is an important way of showing the search engines, as well as your visitors, just what they're getting when they land on the page. And, it's a great way to raise your ranking for particular terms.
