Walmart is a Greedy Corporate Monster
I just wanted to add to a comment that I had left on another user's intel. The intel was about Corporations screwing their customers. I have a perfect example of Walmart doing just that. I also have a perfect example of Walmart screwing their employees, a female to be more specific. Walmart is notorious for doing just that.
Walmart Screws the Customers
Do any of you have any babies? You know the kind that require special care? Like need the sensitive version of Similac. In the rinky dink little town I grew up in, they just ditched our old out dated and way too small Walmart, for a new small business crusing Super Center.
The story gets really good, when my Brother In Law needed some more formula for my baby niece. Now there a couple of sizes you can get that formula in. Small and Large. The large can will last for about a week and a small can will last for about half of that time.
They only had one can left of the sensitive version of the formula and it was damaged. They seem to always be out of stuff, even with the new super center. WTF? It is a friggin' super center. Anywho... like I was saying, they were pretty much out since the last one was damaged. Now everyone knows that buys formula, the smaller cans cost more per ounce. Yet 2 of the small cans is identical in content to the large can.
We tried to appeal to the store manager to see if they could just reduce the price so it would equal the price of the large can since it was the same amount. They wouldn't do it. I mean we were talking about maybe $3 worth difference. So we the customers got screwed.
Walmart Screwing a Female Employee
My sister used to work in a factory and made decent money by my little rinky dink hometown's standards. Well they basically screwed her when my niece had RSV among other respiratory related problems and illnesses. She is fine now, but at that time it caused my sister to miss a lot of work, and she ended up getting fired.
This was after five years of very loyal and dedicated service to the factory. No attendance issues prior to the birth of my niece. So that company screwed her. Then she took a job with the new super center that I have been telling you about. I warned her that Walmart was notorious for treating employees badly, and women in particular.
She told me how the Manager of the store was really great and talked of her being in management and blah blah blah. Well she got stuck in an entry level position making crap pay. Yet they keep teasing her with possibility of management so she doesn't quit. She more or less took a $5 per hour pay cut when she took that job. It was all so she could spend more time with Keely, her daughter. She barely gets to see her.
She does all of the work and is good at it, and still gets screwed by this company. Now you may think she doesn't deserve a management position, but she does. She worked for 2 different factories and was at these companies for over 4 years each. She has been in Quality Control and dealt with some big clients at the first factory and was even recommended for a management position with one of the suppliers, because her supervisor turned it down. So we have yet another case of a company screwing its employees.
Since these events have ocurred I have decided not do anymore business with Walmart than I have to. If you have had any similar experiences with Walmart or a similar corporation, I would love to hear your comments on it.
