Write Your Own vs. PLR Ebook Content

Today most of us are looking to make some extra money any and every way that we can, often it's a second job from home. One super easy way to accomplish this is creating and selling e-books. They are more and more popular and easy to use either on your computer or printed out to read anywhere.

If you have never created an e-book before, it is difficult to understand exactly how much work it actually does entail. Additionally, you need to have at least some writing talent or experience and a working knowledge on the topic that you are writing about because you don't want to taint your reputation by putting out poor quality work.

If you are interested in selling e-books for profit, you do not necessarily have to create your own. Instead you can obtain the private label resell rights to many different niche e-books.

Obtaining the full Private Label Rights to an e-book will allow you, in most cases, to assume the work as your own, edit the content, and pocket 100% of the money from each sale of the ebook.

It also allows you to create resell rights packages from this new product you've created and added your personality to, so you can help others make some income by selling your product themselves.

The biggest downside to obtaining the private label rights to an e-book is the cost. Since most freelance writers spend a large amount of time creating their e-books, they deserve to be appropriately compensated.

E-book authors that charge more for their work typically have produced better content, and better content is MUCH easier to sell. Plus, you didn't have to spend all that extra time researching and writing your information product - so all you'll usually need to do is a bit of editing to give it your own unique touch.

Whether you make the decision to develop your own e-book or purchase the resell rights to someone else’s, you will still have to find a way to market the finished e-book. This, depending on your approach, can take time and some money for promotion.

That is probably the main reason why many people prefer purchasing the resell rights to an e-book that has already been created. This allows them to spend more time on marketing, which will in turn create sales more quickly.

If you are unsure as to whether or not you should create your own e-book or obtain the private label resell rights to another, you are not alone. Private label resell rights products are an amazing business opportunity for some, but not for all.

Personally, I have done both and they each have their own merits... I think you feel better when you do it *all* by yourself, but the time factor is often just too major, and opting for the quicker PLR route is best in that situation.

All online business opportunities take some time to reach success status. If you have the financial resources needed to obtain the resell rights to a well-written ebook and to promote it, you are encouraged to give this opportunity a shot. You are not guaranteed results, but you may be surprised with what you actually can create.

If the PLR pre-written experience is not what you had in mind, you can always begin to create your own e-books or even move on to a different business opportunity. I wouldn't advise dumping it after only a few months, though, because internet marketing is something that requires time, learning how to promote yourself, and a gradual building of your business.

You can always add the 'multiple streams' of income as you go along, gradually building up your business as well as your income. Keep yourself encouraged and uplifted every day... regardless of what happens, too. Attitude plays a huge part in success!

Online marketing is not 'easy-peasy' like some of the online giants have portrayed to us... it requires dedication, hard work, and lots of time and a little (or a lot - depending on your budget) money... but if you hang in there long enough, you *will* see your dreams come to fruition.

So, my advice is that whether you write your ebook yourself, or you decide to go with editing PLR products, at least stay with it long enough to give it a fair shot.
