Building websites in order to generate some revenue online has been something I've done since 1999 or so. I am not an HTML master, but have learned a great deal about it through trial and error. I began with a sitebuilder which did much of the HTML for me, and when it became a paid sitebuilder, I remained a customer because of familiarity and the user friendly approach they implement.
Recently, I discovered a site where you choose from thousands of products, place them on your site with a few clicks, and after some tweaking, end up with a fully functional, free online store- better than most sites I've built in terms of layout, design and product offerings.
The name of this free online store builder, where yes, you make commissions on your sales, is called Zlio. You can find it at Zlio.com.
After deciding what kind of store you want to build, you create your title, add products, tag them, and also can create categories if necessary. There are many categories to choose from, but if you're in need of something specific, you are free to create your own. Run a search on the products you're seeking, and you're bound to come up with hundreds to choose from.
The merchants participating in Zlio stores are known to many. They include businesses like: 1-800-Contacts, Adidas, Avenue, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Franklin Covey, Luggage Online, Medifast, Zappos and many, many more.
The modules, (or extras), included are fabulous. If you've got a Google Adsense account, you can tie it into your Zlio store and get credit for the clicks. There's a ZlioZone widget, which enables you to post ads from your Zlio store onto your blog or other websites. You can even install a statistics tag on your store to follow trends, etc.
If you've wanted to build an online store, but haven't because of a lack of HTML knowledge, your search is over. Your fears need not hold you back. Zlio.com is certainly worth a look. You'll be able to easily integrate products into your store. You can also link with other stores in this impressive network for maximum exposure.
If you want your own domain name, Zlio offers a domain name service. They also enable you to create a sub-domain if you already own a domain name and would like to use it. In my case, I used candlefair.com, (my own domain), and created a sub-domain, shop.candlefair.com, through my sitebuilder, and through Zlio. It will be active within the next day or two. In the meantime, I have my Zlio.com store address which is fully functional and gaining exposure and sales as I write this.
With one store nearly done, (I'd like to add more products), I certainly plan on building more. Although it takes a bit of time, (selecting products, etc.), it's well worth your efforts. Bottom line: A great looking, free online store that generates commissions. However, you must be your own judge. Give it a look.
A significant perk: Invite your friends to create their store, and you're paid 10% of their commissions forever +5% of their friends' commissions. Not bad, and I'm very grateful to have stumbled upon Zlio.com. I think you'll be, too.
Here's to your success!
Note: If you'd like to see a store example, take a look at mine. The address is below. You can build the same thing, with many templates and themes to choose from. I chose candles because I already have a candle site, but you're not limited to just candles. The sky's the limit!
